RADAR CROSS SECTION
OUTDOOR RANGE
Outdoor ranges, whether used for RCS or antenna measurements, position the target or antenna under test sufficiently far from the source antenna such that the incident field is planar. How planar, is based on the desired amplitude and phase requirements for the test. Far-field ranges often utilize up to a mile of asphalt between the source and target or for some, transmit over a canyon between land peaks. Mounting targets in outdoor ranges is often quite elevated, placing some targets nearly 100 feet in the air. DSC has delivered a variety of pylons and other positioning solutions to outdoor ranges and retrofitted others. Whether your outdoor facility needs a new ogive pylon, antenna positioning system, or a retrofit of existing hardware, DSC can deliver a solution that will stand the test of time and provide continuous service through the harshest of outdoor environments.
